Cobras defeat Ohio Freedom June 29, 2008 The Ohio Freedom hosted the Cleveland Cobras on Saturday, June 28th in Sebring, Ohio with the Cobras winning by a score of 23 - 12. The young Ohio Freedom team scored a touchdown on their first possession, but failed to make the two point conversion. The Cobras answered with two successful touchdown drives in the second quarter, and also were successful in one field goal, to go into halftime with a 16-6 lead.
Both teams remained scoreless in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Cobras' quarterback, Damien Ivory, scored on an eight yard rushing play where he plowed through the Ohio Freedom defensive line into the end zone. The Cobras lead was increased with kicker Phil Toal connecting with the extra point to make the score 23-6. With less than four minutes left in the game, the Ohio Freedom scored on a six-play drive which started at their own 20-yard line, but failed on the two point conversion. The final score had the Cobras on top, 23-12. The League is taking a break for the Fourth of July holiday weekend and will return on Saturday, July 12 when the Cleveland Cobras will host Conference rivals the Lackawanna, New York Dynasty at the beautiful Case Western's Van Horn Field. Cobras win 3rd straight game June 23, 2008 The Cleveland Cobras beat the Steel City United by a score of 25-14 on Saturday, June 21st in Belle Vernon, PA. This is the third straight victory for the Cobras and the second loss to United at the hands of the Cobras. The game got a bit "contentious" in the last few minutes, but cooler heads prevailed and the Cobras emerged victorious.
The Green and Black travel to Akron on Saturday, June 28 to battle the Freedom. All Cobras fans are welcomed to come and cheer the team on! New Home Field January 27, 2008 We are proud to announce we will be plaing our 2008 season home games at Case Western Reserve University. The 2,400 seat state-of-the-art stadium and surrounding residential complex opened in August of 2005. The playing surface is field turf and the stadium was built for roughly $126 million dollars.
